THE ESSENTIAL DRUCKER - PETER F. DRUCKER

“It’s task is to make people capable of joint performance, to make their strength  effective and their weakness irrelevant.”

“These days, pratically all of us work for a managed institution, large or small, business or non-business. We depend on management for our livelihoods. And our ability to contribute to society also depends as much on the management or the organisation for which we work as it does on our own skills, dedication and effort.”

“Every entreprises requires commitment to common goals and shared values.”

“Management’s first job is to think through, set and examplify those objectives, values and goals.”

“The results exist only outside. The result of a business is a satisfied customer.”

“Managers have to focus knowledge on effectiveness and results.”

LE MANAGEMENT EN 3 ÉTAPES

-> Establishing the specific purpose and mission of the institution.

-> Making work productive and workers effective.

-> Managing social impacts and social responsibilities.

BUSINESS ET MANAGEMENT

“True marketing starts out with the customer, his demographics, his realities, his needs, his values.”

“It doesn’t ask, What do we want to sell? It asks, What does the customer wants to buy? It does not say, This is what our product or services does. It says, These are the satisfactions the customer looks for, values and needs.”

“The aim of marketing is to know and understand the customer so well that the product or service fits him and sells itself.

“The first sign of decline of an industry is loss of appeal to qualified, able and ambitious people.”

OBJECTIF PRODUCTIVITÉ

“The task of a business is to make ressources productive.”

“Without productivity objectives, a business does not have direction. Without productivity measurements, it does not have control.”

“This task can be identified. It can be defined. Goals can be set. And performance can be measured. And then business can perform.”

ORGANISATION À BUT NON LUCRATIF COMME MODÈLE

“Non-profite also start with the environment, the community, the ‘customers’ to be ; they do not, as American businesses tend to d, start with the inside, that is, with the organization or with financial returns.”

“If it’s in the patient’s interest, we have to promote it.”
